Nepal Dairy Pvt. Ltd., popularly known as nd’s, was founded in 1980 by Dr. Heramba B. Rajbhandary with a clear mission: to make high-quality, nutritious food accessible to all. What began as a humble cottage dairy on the bustling streets of Mahaboudha has grown into one of Nepal’s most trusted and innovative food processing and distribution companies.
In its early days, Nepal Dairy started by producing yogurt in traditional clay cups and pots, a nod to Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. Over the years, the company expanded its product line to include cheese, ice cream, and a wide range of dairy products, earning the trust and loyalty of customers across the country. Today, our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hattiban, Lalitpur, produces a diverse portfolio of products that are available in metro cities throughout Nepal.
Farm-to-Table: Bridging Urban and Rural Communities
At the heart of our operations is the Farm-to-Table concept, which strengthens the connection between urban consumers and rural farmers. We take pride in ensuring that the money our customers spend stays within their communities, supporting local livelihoods. Over the years, the number of milk producers we work with has grown from just 40 to over 5,000. These dedicated farmers, some traveling as far as 350 km across rugged terrain, are the backbone of our success.
